Rules of the Road


General Rules

1. All traffic, except for bicycles, coming from the right, have the right-of-way.

2. At t-crossings, traffic must yield the right-of-way to all crossing traffic.

3. Do not switch lanes at intersections or at traffic lights. Please obey left, right and center arrows on multi-land roads.

4. No right turns on red lights. It is prohibited here and therefore very dangerous for other drivers not expecting it.

5. For your safety, please remember to wear seatbelts and helmets on scooters and motorcycles. The roads are very slippery when even slightly wet or when sand blows across them. Cooling trade winds are often quite gusty. Drive carefully.

6. Please learn the road signs as they are different from the US.
